Governor Abiola Ajimobi

The immediate past Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Oyo State, Apostle Sunday Popoola, has urged Governor Abiola Ajimobi not to be deterred by those criticising the urban renewal programme of his government, describing them as misguided and ignorant.

The cleric, in a letter addressed to the governor, expressed delight over what he called the transformation efforts of the Ajimobi administration which he said had succeeded in changing the face of the state.
“I salute your courage, vision and determination. It takes guts to leave the rots. I am so delighted that we have found in you a leader with guts to get us out of the rots we have found ourselves in the land.
“Ibadan has been a huge slum and a disgraceful sight to behold in the state called the Pacesetter. Now, the change we need is ongoing. I also appreciate the speed at which the work is being done,’’ he said in the letter entitled: “A Word of Encouragement.’’
Apostle Popoola, who is the General Superintendent of Word Communication Ministries, Ibadan, said he was aware of the fact that a lot of “misguided and ignorant fellows’’ were criticising “the good work’’ the governor was doing.
``Please, do not be deterred. The same people will praise you when they see the outcome,’’ he said,  adding ``objective and well-meaning people all over are happy.
``We are praying fervently for you, that God will preserve, strengthen and continue to envision you, as well as give the wisdom to get the resources needed for this transformation to touch on all vital areas of our community life.”
